The Township of Assiginack is located on the eastern portion of Manitoulin Island, bounded by Georgian Bay to the east and Lake Manitou to the west. The main community, Manitowaning (the first European settlement on Manitoulin Island), is nestled in a picturesque bay side setting off Highway 6 South between Little Current and South Baymouth.
