• Golf Tournament


The Manitoulin Chamber of Commerce hosted their first annual fund raising Golf Tournament on August 21st 2005 at Rainbow Ridge Golf Course, Manitowaning. The grand prize for a hole in one was a three-year lease on a vehicle from Manitoulin Chrysler donated by Owen Legge. A Hole in one second prize of $5000 was donated by Jake's Home Centre, Mindemoya. And a $50 gift certificate was donated by Royal Michael's Bay Restaurant, Tehkummah.

Four levels of sponsorship - gold, silver, bronze and prize donation were set up by our organizing committee:
Gold sponsorship required a donation of $500.00 and gives the sponsor a full detailed description of their business on the Manitoulin Chamber of Commerce web site ( Golf Tournament Section) from the date of receipt of their sponsorship until four weeks after the tournament, recognition in our newspaper ads prior to the event, signage at the sponsored hole with their business only listed and a business flyer included in each participants prize package.
Silver sponsorship required a donation of $300.00 and gives the sponsor a brief description of their business on the Manitoulin Chamber of Commerce web site ( Golf Tournament Section) from the date of receipt of their sponsorship until four weeks after the tournament, joint signage at the sponsored hole, and a business flyer included in each participants package.
Bronze sponsorship required a donation of $100.00 and gives the sponsor a listing of their business on the Manitoulin Chamber of Commerce web site ( Golf Tournament Section) from the date of receipt of their sponsorship until four weeks after the tournament and a business card included in each participants package.
Prize donation sponsorship received recognition in the Manitoulin Chamber of Commerce website (Golf Tournament Section) under prizes donated and a business card included in each participants package.

Our sponsors included Santa Maria Cottages and Trailer Resort(Gold), Lacloche Manitoulin Business Assistance Corporation (Silver), Manitoulin Inn(Bronze), and Green Acres Tent & Trailer Park(Bronze).

From reports received and attendance figures noted, everyone had a great time on the golf course.

Our Board consists of 16 Directors who are elected for a 2-year term. Each year 8 Directors retire from the board and 8 new directors are elected. Outgoing board directors are:
